7 Things I Learned From The Power of Your Subconscious Mind by Joseph Murphy
What follows is the most popular blog post I’ve ever written. Day after day, it continues to attract hundreds of readers who are looking to unlock the power of their minds – just like you.
It may be the same post through which the universe originally brought you to me. Again, this did not happen by accident.
If you’ve already read this post from start to finish, you are more than welcome to skip over it and move onto the next section.
But as is the case with anything you read, if it has been some time since you last read this post, it will seem different to you now. You are already in a new space and time.
This is called spaced repetition, and it’s a powerful concept if you understand it.
So, let’s explore the seven secrets I learned from Dr. Joseph Murphy’s book, The Power of Your Subconscious Mind.
I noticed The Power of Your Subconscious Mind by Dr. Joseph Murphy sitting on my bookshelf.
It was originally recommended to me by a friend, who’d visited my home for a couple of months and left behind a book titled Believe in Yourself, also by Dr. Murphy.
I was compelled to pick it up and soon I was devouring every sentence.
Here are seven powerful insights I took away from reading this pivotal work.
Insight #1: You receive answers to prayer because of mental acceptance about what you pray.
Murphy asserts that your religious affiliation isn’t what makes prayer effective. Rather, it hinges on your ability and willingness to accept what you pray.
What you accept on a conscious level must be accepted by your subconscious as well.
This statement expands on this idea: “the subconscious mind is subject to the conscious mind.”
What Murphy is saying is that you can train your subconscious mind to believe what you can accept on a conscious, waking level.
Insight #2: Your subconscious mind has the answer to all your problems.
You don’t need to go looking outside of yourself for the answers you seek. You can look inside by posing questions to your subconscious, which already has the answers.
The answers may not come to you immediately, but your mind is always working on the problems you submit to it – even when you’re busy doing other things.
It will eventually present you with the solution you’ve been looking for.
Insight #3: Faith is the only universal healing principle operating through everybody.
Do you need to be healed – psychologically, physically, emotionally or otherwise?
Faith is created by accessing and harnessing the power of your subconscious mind.
Illness, physical ailments and even traumatic experiences can be healed by repeatedly submitting thoughts of healing to your subconscious mind.
Faith is the universal healing principle.
Insight #4: If a prayer is answered, it is answered scientifically.
There is a formula to the prayers that are answered.
According to Dr. Murphy, “science” means knowledge that is coordinated, arranged and systematized.
Therefore, we can cooperate with our subconscious minds to see more of our prayers answered.
We don’t give enough attention and thought to our subconscious minds, and what fantastic tools they are for helping us achieve desired outcomes in our lives.
Insight #5: Don’t compel your subconscious mind to accept your idea by willpower.
Nothing can be forced. Our willpower is limited, and it continues to decrease and diminish throughout the day. You can’t force yourself to think the same positive thoughts and visualize the same images of success all day long.
Seeds can be planted in our subconscious minds. But they need to be nurtured.
Don’t uncover the soil to see how your seeds are growing. Keep pulling the weeds and watering the seeds.
You need not meditate on your thoughts of freedom, wealth, happiness and success for longer than a couple minutes each day to produce results.
Insight #6: The world you live in is determined by what goes in your mind.
When you choose poorly, you assimilate bad attitudes, behaviors and thoughts. If you choose well, you’ll notice positive changes within yourself.
Consider what world you want to live in. Then, select input that’s fully in alignment with your objectives.
Insight #7: Man punishes himself with his false concepts of God.
We create our own misery. No one else does it for us.
In 2014, I went through a period of depression. Up until that point, I had felt that there was a clear path laid out ahead of me. Suddenly, that path disappeared, and I could no longer see what was ahead.
I cried out to God, but to no avail. My prayers kept hitting the ceiling.
It was my false ideas of the divine that were responsible for my bouts of depression.
Recognizing that you are in control and you can rely upon your subconscious mind for the answers you seek is empowering.
Wait – we’re not done yet! I have plenty more to share with you. Please scroll down to the next section for six more powerful insights into the subconscious mind.

6 Things I Learned From Believe in Yourself by Joseph Murphy
What follows is another popular blog post I published on the topic of the book, Believe in Yourself, by Dr. Joseph Murphy.
I have found this short volume to be incredibly powerful. Each time I read it I get something entirely new from it. Every sentence contains valuable insights into spirituality and personal success.
Here are the six secrets I gleaned from this work.
Insight #8: Feeling is the fountainhead of power.
Feelings and emotions have power. We can learn to channel them into achieving and obtaining our goals and desires.
If you’re setting goals that don’t motivate you, you’ll find it challenging to add feeling to them. But if you were excited about a result you wanted to create in your life, you’d naturally take actions and move in the direction of your wishes and longings.
You must awaken to your true desires. The only way to do that is to build rapport with your subconscious mind (see insight #11 to discover how to do that).
Insight #9: Imagination controls the whole conceptive realm.
Life in the digital age is frantic. Few people take time to think, reflect and ask questions.
But you must make time to meditate on your desired results, end goals, the things your heart yearns for.
Forget the power of imagination at your own peril.
There are endless examples of technological and scientific breakthroughs, movies, books and other works that would not exist if they weren’t first conceived in the mind.
If you want to control the conceptive realm, train your imagination. If you don’t know where to start, daydream. Remember what it was like to be a child sitting in a classroom thinking about what else you wanted to be doing, or what you were going to do when you got home.
Insight #10: Your concept of God determines your attitude towards life.
This statement is impossible to refute.
If you believe that God is angry at you, your attitude towards life will be that you can never do anything right.
If you believe that God loves you, your attitude towards life will be that love is limitless and you will spread your love everywhere you go.
Your beliefs affect your attitude. If you want to change your attitude, you need to examine what you believe in.
Insight #11: A genius is a man in rapport with his subconscious mind.
If you are well-acquainted with your subconscious mind and its inherent power, you are a genius.
And, knowing how to unlock its power and accessing God leads to fresh inspiration, ideas and insights.
Insight #12: According to the image impressed on the subconscious mind, so it is on the objective screen of life.
What are you constantly thinking about? What are you regularly visualizing? What are you picturing in your mind’s eye?
How are you using your imagination?
Your life as it appears on the outside reflects what’s going on inside.
Classic personal development writer, speaker and author Earl Nightingale said:
We become what we think about most of the time, and that’s the strangest secret.
This was Nightingale’s most significant discovery about life.
Your life will move in the direction of your thoughts.
Insight #13: You are a master of conditions.
You are where you are because of actions taken and not taken.
Taking full responsibility for who and where you are is empowering.
You are a master of your conditions. But if you haven’t taken ownership over yourself, you haven’t mastered mastering your conditions yet.
Taking ownership is powerful because you can change your circumstances. The moment you realize you can change your life is the moment you bestow yourself with the keys to life.
Almost there! Please scroll down for my closing message to you, a fellow traveler on this important journey towards freedom, wealth, happiness and success.
